Beginning with dawn until dusk.. New York makes you think more.. want more.. by giving you a tough work out.
I've been questioning, and always try to find an answer of this endless line. Once I found out, I then moved to another one, but folks it's not easy.. In fact, it is as tough as your being passionate about your life that you want to have.. I sometimes learn this from a book and a little line in between or great people that I have the chance to get know.. I get inspired a lot, and enough to push myself to take big actions OVER NIGHT!
However the country, Turkey, where I was born and grew up has nothing to do with my plans ahead, that's why I ended up fighting with many people, systems and beliefs.. It was not a conscious effort to hurt or change them but change mine forever..
After having gone back and forth between all those people and their worlds that I never and will ever associate with, I finally got to be part of the globe where the reversal began in a positive way.. it is a place that people are literally proud of themselves out of their amazing achievements, and also modest enough to honor , and welcome others warmly.. where envy and jealousy apart for the ones who want to go beyond imaginations.. it is a place that people believe that they should be on their own and live independently.. The only thing shared here love and joy as you grab a drink or socialize.. as much as you are willing to!
I used to refuse to go to bars or clubs until I came to US because I had experienced totally different things some years back with pointless people.. Get wasted, lose your mind.. you don't have to worry about life, right? But Hey! I know US or New York is not all about.. I know there is some honey mustered served with sweet desert .. I met people who hate US.. never figured it out.. kicked it off or going back and never come again..
I wish I were a philanthropist & journalist both.. Of course, I know there is unfortunately a huge difference between two-- you are still interested in people & ideas but the way you contribute to the world is too far.. totally different! However you don't necessarily have to be a journalist or super rich to take risks in order to change or be changed, and at the end of the day, you'll find out that all the places you've been before and all the people you've met are part of you and unintentionally help you to explore who you are at the core!
I have always looked up to the people who accomplished amazing achievements and became such super, ideal & dream figures out of ZERO. Now they've been leading people!
Like George Soros -- assuming a false identity, Soros left Hungary and learned to survive on the street by dealing with black marketers who gave him the first lesson in learning the value of things. He became one of the world's biggest financiers of all time. He is an American currency speculator, stock investor, businessman, philanthropist and political activist and has no private jet.! As he mentioned he doesn't need one!
Like my dad- I remember him telling his story when he was 6 as he was living in a small village on the eastern part-- he said, "I was only dreaming of having one more cow or sheep when I was a child shepherd. When I moved into a big city on the west (where I was born and grew up) I had zero." "I'd not possibly imagine that I'd become a builder and look at my buildings now; as I was only having a piece of plain bread to eat at that time!. " (p.s. he couldn't get to go to school after primary one) most importantly, he's been supporting all his children including me today upon master's!
And of course BARACK OBAMA.. "The Audacity of Hope." Don't know how many times I've read this book and still don't get over it. My tiny, little world can possibly not catch any word to explain Obama's accomplishment, and again out of nothing.
I can count numerous names and success stories here; from musicians, to actors; from finance to sports.. The point is this: having a big heart and mind, and become successful which brings you the happiness and confidence are totally independent from a place, a family or a life that you can't choose.
BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A CHOICE, right? And that's what MATTERS!
That's why..
New York makes you think more!
